The words „behold a man” were said by Pilate as he showed Christ
to the Jewish people also it’s a motif in Christian art depicting the scourged Christ wearing a crown of thorns. The the photos refer to this theme but at the same time shows vanity and refer to the
baroque aesthetics through dark colors and a figure emerging from the shadows.
